St. Francis starts fast upends Hunters

The Fighting Saints of St. Francis jumped out to a big first half lead as the Hunters of Duluth Denfeld were unable to come back Friday night in this Mississippi 8 conference battle.

The Saints scored two first quarter touchdowns to take an ealry first quarter lead at 14-0. The Hunters cut into the 14-0 lead when Nick Malec caught a 36 yard touchdown pass from Greg Gustafson and a two point conversion made it 14-8.

The Fighting Saints responed in a hurry following the Hunters touchdwon as they reeled off three consecutive touchdowns including two touchdwon runs from Max Gust which gace the Saints a 34-8 lead at the break.

St. Francis score the first two touchdowns in the second half as they increased their lead to 46-8 before Ben Hendrickson scored on a 1 yard touchdown run to cap off the scoring Friday night form Public Schools Stadium.

The Hunters fall to 0-5 on the season and they will be in action next Friday night as they will take on Big Lake, the Hornets will also be looking for their first win of the season, the Hornets fell Friday night to Mo0nticello by a score of 20-13.

The Fighting Saints improve to 3-2 overall on the season and they will face the Princeton Tigers next Friday night at home. The Tigers are coming 21-14 win over Buffalo.
