AlBrook Advances In Volleyball Playoffs

AlBrook advanced to the quarter final round in the Section 7A girls volleyball tournament with a convincing win over Silver Bay in Saginaw on Wednesday night. The Falcons advanced by beating the Mariners 25-21, 25-16 and 25-12.

Kourtney Karppinen had a huge game with 17 kills for the Falcons, while Abby Otis finished with eight kills and four blocks. Kylene Fremming was strong in the back row with eight digs and Chelsea Hendrickson recorded 20 set assists in
running the offense for AlBrook.

Silver Bay got strong games from Kristin Sandstrom, who had 10 kills and 14 digs, and Katrina Davis, who finished with 10 set assists and 12 digs.

The Falcons will play in the quarter finals in Hermantown on Friday night against Cook County. The Vikings come into the game with an 18-5 record while the Falcons are 13-13 on the season.
