The Esko volleyball team left little doubt that they are the #1 seed in the North Subsection of Section 7AA on Wednesday night when they drubbed Aitkin 25-12, 25-9 and 25-15 in Esko.

The Eskomos have a diversified offense, a stingy defense and strong servers which all add up to a strong team that will make it a difficult match up for any of the teams in the North Subsection who will have to play them down the road.

With Keely Deadrick running the offense, the Eskomos had little trouble pounding out the win over the Gobblers. Deadrick finished with 22 set assists and four blocks for the Eskomos. Meanwhile, Lydia Pelletier chipped in with seven kills, Kayla Handevidt added eight kills and Alyson Glumac recorded five digs in the back row for the Eskomos.

Esko will move into the second round of the tournament to play against Crosby-Ironton on Friday night. The Rangers beat the Moose Lake-Willow River Rebels 25-23, 25-22, 14-25 and 25-12 on Wednesday night.
