Cook County defeats Floodwood

The Cook County Vikings picked up a road Polar League win on Thursday as the Vikings knocked off the Floodwood Polar Bears by a score of 3-1 at Floodwood High School.

The Vikings lost the first game of the match 25-20, before rebounding and winning the next three games of the match. The second game was a 26-24 win, and the third game of the match was another close battle 25-22.

The Vikings won the last game of the match with yet another close match with the Vikings winning again by the score of 25-22.

Jessica Berg-Collman had 15 set assists, Sarah Deschampe added 20 digs for the Vikings and it was Anna Carmen who finished with 17 digs and 6 ace serves.

The Polar Bears were led by Sara Scharnberg who finished with 8 ace serves, 15 digs, and with 5 kills on the night. Stacey Larva had 6 kills and 12 digs in the loss Thursday night.

The Vikings improve to 4-3 overall on the season and they will be in action Saturday when they will play in the Hill City Invitational.

The Polar Bears fall to 2-5 on the season and they also will play in a weekend tournament, this one at Chisholm where they will open up against the Chisholm Bluestreaks.
