The FDLTCC Thunder football team picked up their first win of the season Thursday night when the Thunder crushed the Itasca Vikings by a final score of 63-6 at Ole Haugsrud Field on the Campus of the University of Wisconsin-Superior.

Ryan Brown rushed for 110 yards and scored two touchdowns as the Thunder rolled to the Northern Division Conference victory. Antonio Marshall also added two rushing touchdowns in the Thunder win.

Marshall and Brown each scored on rushing touchdowns in the first quarter which gave the Thunder a 14-6 lead at the end of quarter one. Thunder quarterback Michael Fralick connected with Deandre Bell on a 7 yard touchdown pass and Fralick ran for another touchdown in the second quarter as the Thunder built up a 28-6 lead at halftime.

The Thunder added two more touchdowns in the third quarter when De-Angelo Dophlis intercepted a Jared Hutar pass and returned it 36 yards for a touchdown. Marshall scored his second touchdown of the game, this time it was a 18 yard touchdown run to give the Thunder a 41-6 lead after three quarters.

Nathaniel Smith recovered an Itasca fumble in the end zone for another touchdown to start the fourth quarter, followed by a Brown touchdown run and a safety when the Itasca punter threw the football out of the end-zone following a bad snap on a punt attempt.

Back-up quarterback John Washington capped off the scoring when he scored on a 2 yard touchdown run to make the final margin of victory at 63-6. The Vikings lone score was late in the first quarter on a 1 yard touchdown run from Josiah Bennett.

The Thunder now move to 1-3 overall and they will face Northland Community college next Saturday in Thief River Falls. The Vikings fall to 0-4 and they will face Vermillion next week at home.
