Agate Swimmers take down CEC

The Two Harbors Agates knocked off the Cloquet-Esko-Carlton Swimmers in a dual meet Tuesday afternoon at Herb Drew Pool in Cloquet. The Agates finished with a 53-38 victory.

swimmingcec_12 (640x427)Allie Mayfield had three first place finishes for the Agates to lead Two Harbors to the win. Mayfield  had first place finishes in the 500 yard freestyle, her second first was in the 200 yard freestyle, and her third first was in the 200 freestyle relay.

Kari Haaverson and Mara Boulanger each had two place finishes, they each had a first in the medley relay, Boulanger won the 100 Butterfly, while Haaverson took home first in the 200 IM. LeAnn Fynboh also won the 50 freestyle for the Agates.

The Lumberjacks had first place finishes in the 100 backstroke as Amy Granholm won that event, Emily Ackers won the 100 breaststroke, and Lexis Wysocki captured the 100 freestyle.

The Lumberjacks also won the 400 freestyle relay as Elizabeth House, Emma Lenarz, Kendra Weaver, and Brynnda Foster were members of the winning relay team.

The Lumberjack swim team is back in action Thursday afternoon when the Lumberjacks will host Northeast Range at Herb Drew Pool. The Agates will return to action next Tuesday when they will host Northeast range at Two Harbors High School.
