The Moose Lake–Willow River Rebels maintained the look of a well oiled machine as they rolled over Two Harbors 63-19 Friday night in Willow River.

The Rebels began the scoring for the evening with a 14-yard pass from Hayden Hoffman to Austin Jacobson. That, however, would be the end of the scoring via the passing attack.

ML-WR was a long way from finished in the scoring department, however. They continued on to score eight rushing touchdowns at an even pace of two per quarter by six different ball carriers.

In addition to his passing touchdown, Jacobson added rushing touchdowns of 33 and 44-yards for the Rebels. Shane Rehbein also had two rushing touchdowns, scoring from 13 and 52-yards out. Michael Unzen, Hoffman, Nick Kenemore, and Jacob Disterhaupt also scored for the Rebels.

Just how powerful and explosive is the Rebels rushing attack? Consider this: 20 yards per attempt would be a great stat for a wide receiver. Three of the top four backs averaged more than 20 yards per carry on the night for the Rebels. Unzen finished with a gaudy 161 yards on 8 carries, Shane Rehbein rolled up 72 yards on only 3 carries and Rajean Carlson finished with 2 carries for 44 yards. Jacobson, who had an impressive night scoring a total of three touchdowns and a two point conversion, just missed the 20 yard average himself. He finished with an impressive 97 yards on 6 carries, and a “paltry” 16.2 yards per carry average.

Ryan Guentzel scored on a 14-yard touchdown run in the first quarter and a 49-yard run in the second quarter for Two Harbors. Chad Brelie finished out the scoring on the night with an 84-yard kickoff return for an Agate touchdown to make the final score 63-19, but the night clearly belonged to the Rebels.

Kenemore and Rehbein led the Rebels on defense with nine tackles each. Jacobson and Matt Crider were right behind with eight tackles each.

ML-WR will make a quick turnaround when they host the Braham Bombers on Wednesday at 7:00pm
