The Moose Lake–Willow River boys basketball team has a new head coach in place. After a summer of controversy with the non-renewal of former head coach Scott Hendricks, it was announced after an interview process that Neil Dickinson would be the new boys head basketball coach.

Dickinson will step in as the new head coach, leaving a void on the girl’s Rebel basketball coaching. Dickinson will be crossing over to boys’ varsity level coaching for the first time.

Coach Dickinson will be making this his third different team in ten years as a head coach. He guided the Lady Rebels to an 11-16 record last season.
The Rebels fell to a very good Braham team in the opening round game of the Section 7AA playoffs.

Prior to coaching at Moose Lake-Willow River, Dickenson was the head coach of the Wrenshall Wrens girls basketball program for eight years, in which Dickinson lead the Wrens to three straight 20 win seasons and the girls first ever appearance in the state basketball tournament in 2008.
