The Barnum Bombers girls Volleyball team had little time to rest from participating in the Duluth East invitational this past weekend. On Monday, the Bombers traveled to East Central and faced the Eagles and then on Tuesday the Bombers took on Polar League rival Moose Lake–Willow River.

The Bombers swept East Central 25-12, 25-22 and 25-12. Katrina Newman once again led the Bombers with 16 kills and 14 digs in the win. Jenna Zymslony would follow up with another 7 kills and 8 digs. Sammi Parker also added 7 kills. Jessica Newman had 31 set assists and Karianna Duesler added 11 digs in the win.

On Tuesday, it was the Bombers and the Rebels in another classic match-up, one in which the Bombers came away with a 4-game win. Barnum downed the Rebels 25-17 and 25-8 respectively in the first two games. However, the Rebels fought back and took the third game 25-22. Then, the Bombers closed out the Rebels 25-23 in the fourth game to take the match.

Sheenagh Caroline led the Rebels with 11 kills and also added 2 ace serves and 19 digs. Taryn Davis added 6 kills for Moose Lake-Willow River and Maddy Adamczak led the Rebels with 25 set assists, 3 ace serves and 10 digs.

Barnum’s season record is now 15-2 and will face hosting Carlton Thursday night in a big Polar League contest. Moose Lake-Willow River is now 3-15 on the season. The Rebels will be in action Thursday night as they travel up the shore to take on the Mariners of Silver Bay.
