Eskomos Score In Final Minute To Secure Tie With Hermantown

Esko/Carlton girls soccer waited until the final minute, but then scored to secure a tie with the visiting Hermantown Hawks on Saturday.


After a scoreless first half, McKenzie Herzig got Hermantown on the board first with a goal ten minutes into the second half. The 1-0 lead would hold up until the final minute of the game.


Brook Schramm scored in the 80th minute with an assist from Amanda Bergstedt to send the game into what would be a scoreless overtime.


Emily Johnson made 6 saves for the Eskomos, while Julia Gilbert had 11 saves for Hermantown.


Esko/Carlton will have a busy week as they host Duluth Denfeld on Tuesday and archrival Cloquet on Thursday. Hermantown will host Proctor on Monday.
