Esko Sweeps Silver Bay In 3 Games

Earlier this week the Esko volleyball team suffered a rare setback in a loss to Barnum. On Thursday night the Eskomos took out their frustrations on the Silver Bay Mariners in a 25-4, 25-8 and 25-15 victory.

Going into the match it was not expected that the Mariners would be able to hang with the much more experienced and deeper Eskomos squad, and that proved true as Esko continually peppered Silver Bay with a variety of kills and tips.

Leading Esko’s offense was Keely Deadrick with 16 set assists, five kills and six ace serves. Janae Beaudot added six digs and two ace serves for Esko, while Kayla Handevidt recorded 13 kills and two ace serves and Alyssa Bergstedt finished with five ace serves.

Kristin Sandstrom led the Mariners with seven kills, and considering that Silver Bay scored only 29 points that was an impressive feat.
