CLOQUET – It was parents night at the Cloquet High School gymnasium and the Cloquet volleyball team did not disappoint the large contingent of fans. The Jacks jumped on Denfeld early and never let up in a 3-0 win over the Hunters.

Cloquet won by scores of 25-20, 25-18 and 25-17 to take the match. Game one action saw the Jacks jump to a big lead after 10 straight service points by Keanna Karulak. The Hunters rallied late in the game to make the score appear much closer than it actually was.

In game two, the Jacks again used superior serving and stronger net play as they pulled away to another win with the help of Katie Konietzko, Katie Schulz and Maddie Kiehn at the net. Konietzko, Schulz and Kiehn, along with Emily Fossen continually blocked and shut down any type of offense from the Hunters while also controlling the offense with the help of Karulak who finished with 13 set assists and three ace serves.

The spunky Hunters fought tough in game three, but the game was never in doubt as the Jacks parlayed a strong third game from Katie Schulz to the win.

Konietzko finished with eight kills and two blocks, Schulz and Kiehn each added nine kills and Kierra Johnson was impressive as the libero with 18 digs.
