The Moose Lake – Willow River baseball team shined again Thursday as the Rebels downed the Cromwell Cardinals by a score of 13-2. The Rebels used three big innings to pull away for the eleven-run win.

The Rebels scored three runs in the first inning, a double by Dan Anderson knocked in Rajean Carlson and Joey Bohaty, Anderson would score on a single by Adam Ryan. The biggest blow to the Cardinals was Moose Lakes huge six run second inning that made the score 9-2 after two. The Rebels would add four runs in the bottom of the third as they go on to the win.

Carlson finished 3-4 for the Rebels with three runs scored and a RBI. Bohaty finished 2-4 with 2 RBI’s and three runs scored. Dan Anderson finished 2-3, he scored three runs and had 3 RBI for Moose Lake-Willow River. Nate Zuk also added 2 RBI and a double for ML-WR.

The Cardinals could only muster three total base hits in five innings, Ryan Hutar singled in the first driving in both Cardinal runs as the jumped out to a early 2-0 lead, a lead that would not hold up.

Rajean Carlson was the winning pitcher for the Rebels, pitching 3 innings, he gave up 2 hits, 2 runs, only 1 of which was earned, Carlson also struck out five. Michael Unzen pitched one inning striking out two cardinals, and Nate Zuk closed the door with one inning pitched as well for ML-WR.

The Rebels improve to 2-0 on the season and the will host Proctor on Saturday afternoon. The Cardinals fall to 0-2 on the season and they will play at Albrook on Monday.
