CLOQUET – It was a great night for the Cloquet volleyball team. Coach Heidi Anderson was able to use her entire roster and the Jacks came away with a 3-1 victory over Hinckley-Finlayson. Cloquet won by scores of 25-6, 25-16, 20-25 and 25-18.

The Jacks jumped on the Jaguars right from the get-go as Keanna Karulak rattled off five straight service points before H-F really knew what hit them. Cloquet went on to win game one as Karulak served the game out with eight more service points. In all, the Jacks scored 13 points while Karulak was serving.

Game two saw Cloquet slowly stretch a 5-1 lead into a 15-6 edge as they slammed the door on the Jaguars with superior net play and some strong back row digs.

In game three the Jaguars rebounded to win, but the Jacks were able to slam the door shut to a victory in game four behind the power of Katie Konietzko, Katie Schulz, Maddie Kiehn and Emily Fossen, as well as the strong back row digging of libero Kierra Johnson. Cloquet stretched a 9-5 lead up to 14-6 and were never threatened by the Jaguars.

Konietzko finished with six kills, four blocks and three ace serves, Kiehn added eight kills, Schulz added three ace serves and Johnson recorded 11 digs.
