Barnum Falls To Ogilvie

Sept 26

Turnovers cost the Barnum Bombers yet another game as the Oglivie Lions capitalized on them Friday night. Mistakes cost Barnum the victory last week when they played East Central. Then again on Friday, turnovers haunted Barnum as the Lions improved to 3-1 on the season. The Bombers overall record falls to 2-2.

These two teams traded first half touchdowns with the difference being a two point conversation–the Lions converted and the Bombers couldn’t. The first half was a battle of field position and the Bombers had to sustain long drives to stay in the game.

The score at the end of the first half was 16-14, exactly how it remained as a steady rain made things difficult for both teams in the second half. The Lions would hang on to win the Great Polar Alliance Red match-up.

Josh Hogan scored both Bomber touchdowns with runs of 19 yards and 1 yard in the first half. Nick White scored a two point conversion for Barnum. Barnum had more total offensive yards than the Lions, however, the Lions came out on top.

The Barnum Bombers will travel to Chisholm next week to face the 3-1 Bluestreaks. The Lions will be at home hosting the Ely Timberwolves.
