The Barnum Bombers volleyball team improved their record Tuesday night to 5-0 on the season with another impressive win. This time, the Bombers would sweep the Silver Bay Mariners in three straight games.

“We played very well tonight,” head coach Corina Newman told Northland Sports Online. “The girls are working hard and playing as a team.” The Bombers have kicked off the season well, winning an impressive 15 of 18 games on their fall schedule.

Katrina Newman, again, led the Bombers in the win with 15 kills and 12 digs. Jenna Zymslony finished with 5 kills, while adding 6 digs in the Barnum winon
Tuesday. Jessica Newman had a great night for the Bombers as well, finishing with four kills, 26 set assists,10 digs, and four service aces.

The Bombers recorded finals scores of 25-6, 25-14, and 25-19, continuing to roll on. They will be in action again on Thursday night as they travel to McGregor to take on the 1-2 Mercuries.

On Saturday, September 19th, the Bombers will host an eight-team tournament at the Barnum High School. Aitkin, Cook County, Wrenshall, Silver Bay, Cromwell, East Central, and Barnum will be competing. St. Paul Johnson was supposed to play as well, but they cancelled last week.

The hosting Barnum will be trying to fill the vacancy created by St. Paul Johnson. However, if not filled the seven-team tournament will kick off at 10 am.
