The Cloquet football team pushed their season record to 2-0 on Friday night with a 56-7 romp over the Hibbing Bluejackets on the road.

The Bluejackets opened the scoring in the first quarter when Evan Lister bulled his way into the end zone from the 6-yard line, but that was all they would score as the Jacks would go on to score 56 unanswered points.

With 2:31 left in the first quarter, the Jacks cut the lead to 7-6 when Anthony Hudson scored on an 11-yard run. However, the Jacks were unable to convert on the extra point, leaving it 7-6 after one quarter.

Thomas Rogers gave the Jacks the lead at 9-6 when he booted a 38-yard field goal with 6:42 left in the second quarter. Before the quarter ended, the Jacks had put up back-to-back touchdowns from Paul Ryan on runs of 15 and 3 yards. Finally, it was Ryan again on a 17-yard touchdown pass from Tyler Tollerud to push the score to 30-7 at halftime.

Tollerud hit RaRa Jones for a 21-yard touchdown pass in the third quarter with 9:33 remaining. That was followed by an 86-yard punt return for a touchdown by Grant Sunnarborg with 6:30 left in the third quarter as Cloquet built the lead to 42-7.

Early in the fourth quarter it was Jones scoring on a 51-yard touchdown run and then, prior to the end of the game, Cole Johnson bolted in from the 18-yard line for a score.

The Jacks rushed for 411 yards in the game and added 52 yards in the air, while the Bluejackets finished with 238 yards on the ground and just 8 passing yards.

Cloquet is now 2-0 on the season and the Bluejackets are 0-2.
