FDLTCC Player Named MCAC Player Of The Week

Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College running back March Jones turned in a stellar running performance in the Thunders game against MSCTC community college in Fergus Falls on Saturday. This Wednesday he was rewarded by being named offensive player of the week in the MCAC.

Jones, a sophomore from Montgomery, Alabama, rushed for 169 yards on 26 carries and scored two touchdowns for the Thunder last week. Despite outgaining the Spartans 454-150 yards on offense, the Thunder lost 36-21 to MSCTC.

Jones was quick to give credit to his teammates, explaining to Northland Sports Online, “all the credit has to go to the O-line, they were blocking great and opening the holes. They made it easy for me to do my thing and try to make a couple of guys miss.”

In the first two games, Jones gained 225 yards on 41 attempts for a 5.5 yard average, placing him atop the leader board in rushing for the entire conference.

The MCAC is a 10-team, NJCAA Division III Conference with teams located throughout Minnesota.
