Congratulations to the Esko 6th grade boys basketball team for winning the Great Northwest League Championship Tournament 12/7 and 12/8 in Eau Claire, Wisconsin.

There are 132 6th grade teams from across Minnesota and Wisconsin playing in the Great Northwest league – the top 32 teams were invited to the League Championship Tournament.

The boys defeated all 7 opponents they faced including top seeded Wausau East in their opening game, followed by wins over 5 other ranked teams, and capped off an undefeated tournament win over #3 Marshfield WI, in the championship game. They are the first Esko team, boys or girls to win the Great Northwest League Championship Tournament since it began in 1995.
