Tuesday’s NSO Area Volleyball Recap

It was a busy night on the volleyball scene around the NSO area. In all, four different NSO teams were busy on the hard court as school started in the Northland.

Among the featured games were Esko and Cromwell, in which the Eskomos knocked off the previously unbeaten Cards by 25-14, 25-13 and 25-10.

In a surprise, the Moose Lake-Willow River Rebels dropped a 25-14, 27-25 and 25-19 match to Cook County. Sheenagh Caroline had 7 kills and 18 digs, while Miranda Jacobson finished with 9 set assists and Katie Youngberg added 23 digs for the Rebels.

Wrenshall fell to Silver Bay 25-16, 25-17 and 25-18 despite 14 digs from Jade Dahl.

The Barnum Bombers kept their winning streak alive with a 25-19, 25-15 and 25-21 win over Onamia. Katrina Newman led the way with 17 kills. Jessica Newman picked up 27 set assists and Jenna Zymslony added 7 kills for the Bombers.

Carlton rolled easily over McGregor. The Bulldogs won 25-6, 25-2 and 25-15 as Sarah Aili and Taylor Carpenter recorded 8 and 7 kills respectively for Carlton. Katie Bloom and Clarissa Nelson each chipped in with 3 kills apiece.
