Esko Hands Cromwell First Volleyball Loss Of The Season

The Esko volleyball team hosted the Cromwell Cardinals Tuesday evening. The Eskomos recorded a convincing 3-0 win at home, handing the Cardinals their first loss of the season. Esko registered wins in straight sets of 25-14, 25-13, 25-10.


Kills were the order of the day for Esko. Kayla Handevidt led the charge with 11. Handevidt also contributed 2 blocks and 3 ace serves. Keely Deadrick recorded 15 set assists, while directing the offense. She also contributed to the kill total with 4 kills while adding 2 blocks. Alyssa Bergstedt came up with 7 kills and Stephanie Bandelin had 4 kills and 2 blocks.


The Eskomos were tough on defense, as well. Allison Glumac led the efforts with 6 blocks, while Lydia Pelletier added 4 blocks.


Leading the Cardinals was Ashley Coleman with 10 digs and 4 blocks. Emily Hendrickson also added 8 digs.


With the win, Esko is now 3-1 on the season and will host Virginia at 7:00pm on Thursday. Cromwell falls to 2-1 and will be on the road Thursday when they take on their Section 5A foe, the Barnum Bombers.
