Cloquet Girls Pick Up 57-25 Road Win Over Deer River

A swarming defense and good transitional offense guided the Cloquet girls basketball team to a runaway win over Deer River on Friday night. The Jacks parlayed depth of scoring, and plenty of defense, into a 57-25 victory over the Warriors.

Jaiden Cofield and Avery Bieri led the Cloquet offense with 16 and 15 points respectively as the Jacks sprinted out to a 29-11 halftime lead and never looked back.

Kenzie Rathe and Morgan Warbalow added eight and seven points respectively for the Jacks who had nine different players score. Also scoring were; Krista Schmitz and Meny Sandoval with three points, Morgan Jensen and Kassidy Steen who each had two points and Reilly Kedrowski with a point.

The Warriors were led by Donna Velischek’s seven points, but know Deer River player was in double figure scoring.


The Lady Jacks are now 2-3 on the season and will travel to Hermantown on Tuesday to take on the Hawks.
