Barnum Girls Cruise Past Silver Bay

Barnum has worked a bit harder to find wins this season in girls basketball; but on Friday night the Bombers used a tried and true formula of solid defense and steady offense to take a 52-17 win over Silver Bay.

The Bombers used a strong defense to stake themselves to a 25-8 halftime lead and then built on that lead by outscoring the Mariners 27-9 in the second half.

In fact, the Bomber defense was so good that it allowed only two Mariner players to score as Alicia Nopola scored 15 points and Tara Dow had two points for Silver Bay and that was all the offense they could muster.

Cheyanne Johnson led the Bombers with 17 points and Daron Mainville was also in double figures with 11 points for Barnum. Both Megan Nelson and Miriah Parker finished with seven points, Jaelyn Bushey and Lauren Hultgren chipped in with five points each for Barnum.

Barnum is now 3-3 on the season and will host Cook County on Monday night in Barnum.
