Esko Girls Dominate In Last Five Games

The Esko girls basketball team opened the season against two-time state Class AAAA champion Hopkins and lost a tough game. Since that time the Eskomos have rattled off five straight victories, including last night’s 74-18 win over Cook County. In that five-game stretch the Eskomos have outscored their opponents 379 to 126. That is dominance.

Claudia Turner, who transferred from Barnum this season, hit for 19 points to lead the Eskomos and Marisa Shady wasn’t far behind with 18 points. Division I and UCLA recruit, Savannah Trapp, hit for 14 pints and was also in double figures for Esko.

The Eskomos raced out to a 40-8 lead in the first half and then cruised to the victory.

Also scoring for Esko were; Bailey Mudek with 7, it was six for Kailee Kiminski, Brooke Schramm scored four points, both Erika Shady and Kailee Katt had two points, while Molly Trapp and Hailey Salo both scored a point.

No Cook County player scored in double figures and the Vikings were led by Theresa Morrin with eight points.


Next up for the Eskomos will be Hibbing, who they will host at 4:15pm on Saturday.
