Karppinen’s 22 Points Lead Panthers Over Wrenshall

After a season opening loss, the South Ridge Panther boys basketball team has reeled off four-straight victories including last night’s 56-46 win over visiting Wrenshall.

Kody Karppinen carried the hot hand for the Panthers with 22 points, including a pair of 3-point shots, while Jared Kittel matched that performance for the Wrens.

South Ridge, playing without one of their key players Drew Janke due to an injury from the football season, led the game 23-21 after the first half and then outscored the Wrens by eight points in the second half to secure the win.

Colton Peterson added 10 points for the Panthers, Robbie McQuade added eight, it was seven for Bill Redding, Dominic Janke finished with five and Jerome Otis recorded four points.

Matt O’Connor finished with 13 points for the Wrens, Pat Gustafson chipped in with six, Aaron Atkins added three points and Derek Duncan scored two points in the loss.
