It took a little work, but the Proctor girls basketball team picked up a nice 52-50 home win over the Virginia Blue Devils on Friday night in Proctor.

The Rails trailed 31-24 at halftime, but surged back in the second stanza. Timely scoring along with a tough defense which held Blue Devils to 19 second half points secured the two point victory.

Bridget Tesser dropped in 18 points for the Rails to lead her team in scoring. Brianna Westendorf added 11 points, while it was 10 points for Lexie DeWall. Both Kortney Hjerpe and Joelle Bolos scored four points, Cecilia Everson recorded three points for Proctor and it was two points for Krista Mottonen.

Brylee Seitz led the Blue Devils with 12 points.

The Lady Rails are now 1-3 on the season and will be right back at it with a 2:30pm game at Pine City.
