Rebels Regular Season Win Streak Hits 51 Games With 59-7 Win

TWO HARBORS- The Moose Lake-Willow River Rebels continued their dominance on regular season football action as the Rebels defeated the Agates 59-7 in a conference and sectional match-up Friday night in Two Harbors.


With the win, the Rebels have now won 51 consecutive regular season games and won their 35th consecutive road win Friday night over the Agates. The Rebels used an opportunistic defense as the Rebels held the Agates in check almost the entire game.


The Rebels held Two Harbors to only four first downs on the night and two of the four first downs came about because of Rebel penalties. The Agates had two first downs in the first half and two in the second half.


Jake Disterhaupt continued his scoring assault as he finished with four touchdowns on the night including three rushing touchdowns. He had runs of 25, 10, and 41 yards for three rushing touchdowns. He also caught a 21 yard touchdown pass from Tony Adamczak.


Michael Pender, Ben Moonen, Michael Gassert, and Alex Kenemore also contributed touchdown runs in the Rebels victory. The Rebels other touchdown came on an Adamczak to Isaac Coil scoring pass from 32 yards out.


The Agates lone touchdown came late in the third quarter when Kyler Kinn connected with Nick Johnson on a 71 yard touchdown pass. The 71 yards that the Agates gained on that played were 70% on the total yards they gained in the game. Two Harbors only managed 103 yards of total offense.


The Rebels, with the win move to 5-0 on the season and they will be back in action again next Friday night when they travel to Rush City to will face the Tigers. The Agates fall to 0-5 on the season and they will host the Eveleth-Gilbert Golden Bears next Friday night in Two Harbors.
