Proctor Boys Win Behind Hella’s Two Goals

It took last second heroics by Cade Hella, but in the end the Proctor Rails prevailed 2-1 over Hibbing in boys soccer on Tuesday afternoon in Proctor.

Hella’s second goal of the game came with just four second remaining in the first overtime and proved to be enough for the Rails to gain the win. Hella’s first goal tied the game for the Rails late in the second half as Jake Kuno added the assist.

Hibbing had taken the lead in the 50th minute when Alex Stark scored before Hella’s heroics late in the second half and in the first overtime.

After Hella’s overtime goal the Rails were able to stymie the Blue Jackets and keep them off the board during the second overtime.

Proctor netminder Michael Petoletti finished with eight saves and Hibbing goalie Alex Hamre had six saves on eight shots.

The Rails are now 5-3-2 on the season.
