The Hermantown Hawks picked up a three game sweep over the Denfeld Hunters Thursday night at Hermantown High School. The victory extended the Hawks win streak to seven games with the sweep of the Hunters.

The Hawks, whose only loss this season came against Greenway of Coleraine up in Greenway 10 days ago have seen themselves re-group after that loss and have won seven straight matches; the Hawks also won the Crosby-Ironton tournament last weekend.

Hermantown jumped out fast Thursday night as they handled the Hunters rather easily in the first game rolling to a 25-10 victory. The Hawks then went on and again controlled the second game of the match as they won 25-14.

Hermantown also won the third game of the set by the same score of 25-14 to earn the sweep and the Lake Superior Conference victory at home. The Hunters, who were coming off a victory Tuesday over Marshall found themselves swept for the fifth time this season.

Emily Neumann had another huge night directing the offense for the Hawks as she finished with 36 set assists on night. Stephanie Kallberg ended with 14 kills; Katie Thun added 13 kills and also chipped in with 15 digs. Nicole Kienzle added 7 kills and 4 blocks and it was Jessica Wasbotten who ended with 15 digs for Hermantown.

With the victory, Hermantown improves to 11-1 on the season and they will not be in action again until Thursday when they will face Ashland in a Lake Superior Conference contest at Ashland High School. Denfeld falls to 7-5 on the season and they will host Cloquet on Thursday night at Denfeld High School.
