Dave Hylla To Be Inducted Into Mn. Coaches Assn. Hall of Fame

Former Head Football coach of the Proctor Rails, Dave Hylla has been named one of six individuals who will enter the Minnesota High School Coaches Association Hall of Fame the fall. The Minnesota High School Coaches Association nominated six inductees who will be inducted on Saturday October 13th in St. Paul.


Hylla, who was the Proctor Rails head football coach from 1981 until his untimely death in 2008, will join five other inductees. Hylla compiled a 195-77 record as the Rails head Coach, also led the Rails to their most successful season in school history. Hylla also coached Basketball and track for Proctor.


Hylla had many honors and awards from the Minnesota State High School Coaches Association including the George Haun Award, Hall of Fame Award and the MSHSCA Power of Influence Award. He was also named Coach of The Year several times and in 2006 was the Section 7 AAA Coach of The Year.


Those selected have accumulated impressive success in the sports they have coached. They have reached a pinnacle of coaching success that ranks them in a very special status and exemplify the greatness of Minnesota High School Coaches.


The five other Coaches inducted are Carolyn Hummel from Lakefield and Jackson County Central, Bill Quenette of Moorhead, Buz Rumrill from Silver Lake, Tom Saterdalen of Bloomington Jefferson, and Gary Schuler from Warren and Fergus Falls.
