An opening loss to Ashland hasn’t slowed the Proctor boys soccer team. On Tuesday the Rails snapped up their third win in a row by beating Eveleth-Gilbert 3-0, and are now 3-1-2 on the season.

The lone score for Proctor in the first half, which has now four shutouts in a row, was scored by Magnus Stromnus in the 19th minute. Stromnus’ goal was unassisted and would be the game-winner for the Rails.

Second half goals for Proctor were scored by Cade Hella and Christian Ripley about a minute apart late in the second half. Hella’s goal was assisted by Ripley, while Ripley’s goal was assisted by Taylor Ringdahl.

Freshman Michael Petoletti finished with six saves for the Rails, while John Martinson finished with 11-saves on 14-shots for the Golden Bears.
