Wrenshall Runs Over Northland-Remer For 27-12 Win

The offensive line opened the holes and Jack Dolter and Caleb O’Connor rushed through those holes last night as the Wrenshall Wrens downed the Eagles of Northland-Remer 27-12 on Friday night in Wrenshall.


Dolter rushed eight times for 111-yards and a pair of touchdowns, while O’Conner rushed 10-times for 94-yards and two touchdowns in leading the Wrens to the victory and pushing their record to 1-1 on the season.


The lone first quarter touchdown was scored by Dolter on a 16-yard run, while Luke Vine added the extra point kick making it 7-0 after one quarter of play.


O’Conner added a 45-yard burst for a touchdown in the second quarter making it 13-0 after the extra point kick failed. Jessie Homer caught a pass from Patrick Kemper and took it 12-yards to paydirt midway through the second quarter for the Eagles cutting the lead to 13-6 after the extra point run was stopped by the Wrens.


Following the Eagles score the Wrens added two more second quarter scores; the first on a Dolter 24-yard run and the second on a 14-yard ramble by O’Connor. Dustin Shetton added the conversion run on the second score for the Wrens and they held a 27-6 halftime lead.


The lone score of the second half was by Kemper of the Eagles, but by then the game was already decided giving the Wrens the win in the Great Northern Conference.
