Jacks Net 3-0 Volleyball Win Over Eveleth-Gilbert

The Cloquet volleyball team tuned up for the Coon Rapids Invitational this weekend by beating Eveleth-Gilbert 3-0 on Thursday evening in Cloquet.

Olivia Mayasich pounded down 13-kills and she added two ace serves in leading her team at the net. The win improved the Jacks record to 2-2 overall on the young season. On Saturday the Lumberjacks will take part in a tournament in Coon Rapids which is annually one of the tougher tournaments in the Twin Cities.

Cloquet also got a strong setting game from Jessica Stone who had 24-set assists to help guide the Jacks offense. Sami Westendorf and Alex Oakes also continued their strong overall play this season as Westendorf finished with 14-digs and seven kills and Oakes added nine digs, five kills and five ace serves with her jump serving ability.

Megan Preiner led the Golden Bears with 13-digs and nine kills, while Hannah Kreibich had 12-set assists and Alex Schlotec added 12-digs.


The Jacks are now 2-2 on the season
