Hermantown Girls Off To Fast 4-1 Start

The Hermantown girls soccer team has started quickly this fall season. On Friday the Hawks nailed down a 3-0 victory over Proctor and in the process improved their record to 4-1 on the season, with their only loss coming to state wide power Rosemount.

Lyla Abukhodair netted a pair of first half goals to give the Hawks and 2-0 lead entering halftime. The first goal by Abukhodair was scored in the 17th minute with Mackenzie Herzig providing the assist. Abukhodair’s second goal was unassisted and came in the 15th minute.

Abukhodair has keyed the Hawks strong start and had another strong game overall as she also added a second half assist on a goal by Hailey Hoff in the 70th minute which gave Hermantown a 3-0 lead.

Hermantown pounded 11 shots on Proctor goalie Kassie Haedtke who finished with eight saves. Hawks goalie Courtney Simmons finished with seven saves in picking up the shutout win.
