Hermantown and Proctor played to a 1-1 overtime tie in boys soccer on Friday afternoon. The game was tightly played with neither team having a significant advantage.

In fact, even the goal scoring came within minutes of each other. In the 39th minute the Hawks took a 1-0 lead on a tally by Christian Wasbotten with Gunnar Kuberra adding the assist. Just four minutes later and three minutes into the second half it was Proctor answering the Hawks goal with a goal from Jake Kuno which was unassisted.

Niether team was able to score in the first or second overtime period.

Jake Mercier finished with nine saves on 10 shots for Proctor and Hermantown goalie, Josh Lenard had seven saves on eight shots.

For the Hawks it is the first non-loss of the season after starting 0-2 while the story is about the same for the Rails. Proctor started the season with a loss to Ashland and now moves up to 0-1-1 on the year. Both teams will be back in action on Tuesday. Hermantown will travel to Superior while Proctor will host Two Harbors.
