When the Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College football team opens play at home on September 12th, fans will have plenty of opportunity to see a number of local athletes in uniform.

Included in the impressive group of freshman is Jordan Berglund of Wrenshall. Berglund, a gifted linebacker, also played running back for the Wrens.

“We feel that coming into our third year that we are headed in a competitive and respectable direction,” said head coach Tony Deleon of the Thunder. “Berglund will see time at linebacker. He is big, strong and a very coachable player. His potential is special and he will be asked to accept the role as a team leader.”

Back again is second team All-Conference selection Ivonte Clopton, while Josh Miron of Princeton will anchor the offensive line and March Jones, a transfer, will see a lot of carries in the offensive backfield.

Stephen Bockovich will play cornerback; Tyler Conito will be in the backfield, while Proctor graduates, Seith Johnson and Eric Makitalo will play on the line as will Anthony Stewart of Duluth Central.

“We are excited about the season,” mentioned Deleon. “We want to thank the fans, community and college in advance for their support.”
