Hawks Net 6-1 Victory Over CEC

The Hermantown boys tennis team turned the tables on Cloquet-Esko-Carlton on Friday afternoon. After CEC defeated Hermantown a little over a week ago 4-3, the Hawks took an easy 6-1 decision over the Jacks in the second meeting of the teams Friday.

Guiga Audito started things in the right direction for the Hawks by taking a #1 singles match 6-4, 6-0 over Sean Kedrowski of CEC. At #2 singles it was Jeremy Amys notching a 6-0, 6-3 victory over Tanner Webster of CEC. The Lumberjacks lone win came at #3 singles when Christian Pritchett down Nakul Aggarwal 6-2, 6-4. Hermantown bounced back by winning at #4 singles when John Frosig beat Joel Gustafson 6-0, 6-0.

The Hawks swept in doubles action starting at #1 with Cody Neubarth and Jasin Hammer taking a 6-2, 6-4 win over Ryan Willgohs and Rob Sobczak of CEC. At #2 it was the Hawks duo of Travis Peterson and Gus Peterson beating Luke Heine and Joey Gotchnik 3-6, 6-4 and 6-4. And at #3 doubles the Hawks completed the sweep with Brady Dammer and Brett Sterk winning 6-4, 6-0 over Nick Tomhave and Ben Tomhave of CEC.
