If anyone thought the #13 was unlucky for the Hermantown Hawks baseball team, they need to re-evaluate their thinking. The Hawks picked up win #14 on Friday when they knocked off Esko 10-0 in a five-inning affair.

Hawks pitcher, Kevin Folman delivered a two-hitter on the mound while striking out six and walking just one Eskomo player. Corey McDonnell took the loss for Esko, going four innings and allowing four hits and two earned runs.

Joe Muench went 3-for-4 for Hermantown at the plate and doubled and triple while knocking in four runs and scoring three times. Jared Thomas added two RBIs; Neal Pionk had a double and an RBI, while Lane LeGarde also scored a pair of runs.

Ryan Holte had a double for Esko which struggled against the strong pitching of Folman.

The Hawks are now 14-0 on the 2012 campaign and will be back in action on Monday when they travel to Eveleth-Gilbert. Esko is now 6-7 and will travel to Moose Lake on Tuesday to take on the Rebels.
