It was another big day for the Cloquet-Esko-Carlton boys tennis team on Thursday evening. The Jacks man-handled Duluth Denfeld in a 6-1 victory for the Jacks at Cloquet Senior High School tennis courts.

The Jacks did some shuffling in their line up and moved Tanner Webster to #1 singles and he delivered with a 6-4, 6-1 win over Kyle Stupka. Christian Pritchett, who normally plays at #4 for the Jacks, moved into the #2 slot and came out with a 6-2, 6-2 win over Brenden Johnson. At #3 singles it was CEC’s Luke Heine downing Joe Erickson in a tight match. Heine won by scores of; 4-6, 7-6 (7-4) and 10-8. Finally it was Joey Gotchnik beating Kevin Hendrickson 6-0, 6-0 to complete the singles sweep for CEC.

In doubles play the CEC team of Sean Kedrowski and John Scheuer, normally the top two singles players for the Jacks, combined to take a 6-1, 6-3 win over Corey Bolen and Troy Andrews. At #2 doubles the duo of Ryan Willgohs and Rob Sobczak picked up a 6-3, 6-1 victory over Bryan Mlodzyniec and Mike Stukel. The only loss on the day for CEC came at #3 doubles when Nick and Ben Tomhave lost a 1-6, 6-3, 10-6 match to Tony Petrich and Greg Bachinske.
