An eight run second inning helped to propel the South Ridge Panthers to an easy 14-1 five-inning victory over the Hill City Hornets on Monday night in Cloquet at Braun Park.

Kendra Dallmann allowed only three hits from the mound and fanned six Hornet batters in her short day of work.

Senior catcher Alyssa Johnson smacked out three hits, including a pair of doubles. Also bashing out a pair of doubles was Marissa Thibault, who also scored a pair of runs in the win. Kourtney Karppinen added a double and Krystal Karppinen tripled for the Panthers.

South Ridge continues to stay hot winning six of their last seven contests and are now 8-3 overall. They will hit the diamond again on Tuesday when they travel to Barnum to take on the Bombers.
