Cloquet held tough for the first five innings until Virginia jumped broke open a 4-3 game with a five-run sixth inning and held on for the victory. Leading the Virginia charge was pitcher Alexis McCarthy-Maki who tossed a 12-hitter in taking the win.

Haley Greenwald, Ashleigh Seabrook, Hayley Lundgren and Caari Toivari each bashed out three hits for the Blue Devils, while Vicki Fossland added a pair of hits.

Shania Paulson led the Jacks with a 3-for-4 effort for the Lumberjacks. Averi Handcock was 2-for-4 while Kelly Carlson went 2-for-4 with a triple and two runs scored.
