CEC Boys Come Up Short Against Denfeld

Duluth Marshall continued its dominance in local tennis circles on Monday afternoon with a 5-2 win over Cloquet-Esko-Carlton.

CEC’s lone victories came at #3 singles by Tanner Webster and #4 singles by Chase Pritchett. Webster defeated Joel Lipovetz 6-3 and 6-4, while Pritchett downed Rudy Lipovetz 6-3, 6-0. At #1 singles it was CEC’s Sean Kedrowski falling to Joey Kronzer 6-2, 6-0 and at #2 CEC’s John Scheuer lost 6-3, 7-5 to Jack Dodd.

Marshall’s dominance continued in the doubles competition at #1 where the team of Evan Goldschmidt and Nick Sengbush defeated the CEC duo of Rob Sobczak and Ryan Willgohs 6-1, 6-2. At #2 doubles the CEC team of Luke Heine and Joey Gotchnik lost 6-0, 6-3 to Max Bartell and Will Heyer and at #3 it was the CEC duo of Ben and Nick Tomhave losing to David Goltz and Jack Kronzer 6-2, 6-1.
