It is never easy to win in Polar League baseball. It is usually even tougher to win on the road, but that is what the Two Harbors Agates accomplished on Thursday when they defeated Esko in Esko 3-2 behind a sterling pitching effort by Mark Pearson.

Pearson kept the Eskomos off balance much of the day and finished with a complete game, six strike out, one walk performance. Corey McConnell also had a stellar game for Esko by giving up only one earned run, four hits, fanning nine and walking three.

Six different Eskomos had hits in the game with Max Reinertsen and Cameron Salmi scoring the two Esko runs.

Leading the Agates offensively was Lucas Kempfler who knocked in a pair of runs and Steve Frikken who scored twice for Two Harbors.

Esko will have a quick turnaround and be back on the diamond Friday when they host Marshall School of Duluth.
