A five-run second proved to be enough for the Cloquet Lumberjacks in their 5-3 win over Duluth Denfeld on Monday night. The Jacks rode the pitching of Taylor Blundell to the win. Blundell gave up just six hits in the complete game seven inning win.

Cloquet managed just three hits off a combination of Chase Schaub and Jarrod Anderson, but they manage to bunch their hits and get some much needed breaks. One of the key hits for the Jacks was a two-run single by Trent Moe.

The Hunters rallied for three runs in the fifth inning, but the Jacks defense and Blundell shut them down the rest of the way to take the Lake Superior Conference victory.

After dropping their opener to Henry-Sibley at the Metrodome the Jacks have won three in a row to move their overall record to 3-1 on the young season. Cloquet will be back at it on Friday when they travel to Duluth to take on Duluth Marshall at UMD Field.
