Naslund’s 35 Points Leads Bombers To Win

The Barnum Bombers picked up their fourth straight win Friday night as the Bombers closed out the 2011-2012 boys regular season with a 73-61 win at South Ridge High School on Friday night in a non-conference match-up.


Senior Jake Naslund had a career night on Friday as the senior forward exploded for 35 points in the Bombers road win. Naslund who connected on two 3-pointers helped Barnum to an early first half lead of 44-31.


The Bombers and the Panthers traded baskets in the second half as the Bombers rolled to the 12 point victory. The Bombers winning their last four games of the regular season handed the Panthers their fourth straight loss to end their regular season.


The Bomber’s were led by Naslund and his 35 points, Bobby Minkkinen chipped in with16, Rodney Mullen, Brandon Newman, and Danny Warpula all scored 5 points for the Bombers while Brandon King finished with 4, and Jaxson Turner added 3.


The Panthers were led by Dan Wood and Dominic Janke who both notched 15 points for South Ridge. Kody Karppinen and Colton Peterson both chipped in with 10, Jerome Otis added 6, Drew Janke had 3, and Aaron Smith finished with 2 points on the night.


The Bombers close out the regular season with a record of 21-5 overall. The Bombers will open Section 5A playoff basketball on next Thursday night when they will host either East Central or Onamia, who square off in sectional action next Monday night.


The Panthers finish with a record of 12-10 on the regular season, they will open Section 7A playoff action next Thursday night at Hermantown High School and as it appears now the Panthers will take on the Ogichida of Fond du Lac at 6:00pm.
