On Thursday night the Esko Eskomos knocked off a very good Pequot Lake Patriot team and then on Friday the Eskomos knocked off the Dragons of Pine City as the Eskomos have appeared to garner the top seeding in the Section 7AA playoffs which begin next week.

Thursday the Eskomos traveled to Pequot Lakes and it was the Eskomos long range shooting which again led Esko to the 59-53 victory over the Patriots. Esko built a seven points 29-22 lead at half time and went on to the six point victory on the road.

Esko’s Jackson Lindquist scored 17 points, followed by Casey Staniger with 15, Marc Peterson added 11, while Kory Deadrick scored 8, Jared Harms added 6, and Bobby Wright finished with 2, as the Eskomos also connected on nine 3-pointers for the night. Nevin Greer scored 23 points to lead all scorers for Pequot Lakes; he also hit on five 3-pointers.

On Friday night, the Eskomos had their second consecutive road trip as the Pine City Dragons would face the Eskomos in their fourth straight road game. The Dragons faced the same fate as 21 other teams had before this season when Esko again connected from long Range to capture the 82-29 sectional victory.

The Eskomos took advantage of their continued hot outside shooting and capitalized on 29 Dragon turnovers, which led to 35 points off of turnovers for the Eskomos. Esko also out-rebound Pine City by a 33-22 margin and also finished with 23 assists on the night where as Pine City had only one assist all night.

The Eskomos Jackson Lindquist again led Esko with 25 points, Kory Deadrick added 20, Ben Hansen, Casey Staniger, and Marc Peterson finished with 8 each, Jared Harms added 6, Nate Johnson finished with 3, and it was Bobby Wright finishing with 2 points.

The Eskomos now finish the regular season with a 22-4 overall record. The Eskomos appear to have the number one seed in Section 7AA sub section one. The two victories on Thursday and Friday night helped the Eskomos slip ahead of the Braham Bombers in the QRF formula seedings. The Section 7AA playoffs begin Wednesday night at home sites. Esko will be home Wednesday and will face either Rush City or a return match-up with Pine City.
