The Two Harbors Agates must have felt like they ran into a tornado on Thursday night in Cloquet. The Lumberjack boys basketball team throttled the Agates 80-34 in a game Cloquet led wire-to-wire and never were threatened by Two Harbors.

So dominant was the Lumberjacks performance that 12 different Cloquet players scored led by the 19 points of Adam Laine, and the 16 points of Zack Peterson, who ironically, were the only players in double-digit scoring for Cloquet. Both Jake Bushey and Nate Weets added eight points for Cloquet while both Erik Swanson and Dillon Johnson chipped in with six points.

The Lumberjacks outscored the Agates 41-17 in the first half and 39-17 in the second half. The Lumberjacks record 19 points from the free throw line, while the Agates scored just six points from the line. Cloquet also out-rebounded the Agates 46-24 in the game.

Also scoring for Cloquet were; Gavin Takkunen and Maxx Brenner with four points each, it was three points for Sean Ferrell, while Trent Moe, Dylan McIvor and Tanner Louhela all finished with a pair points.

Kyle Omtvedt led the Agates with eight points and both Trygve Lodin and Charlie Pavlisich added six points each for Two Harbors.

The win moves the Lumberjacks record to 9-16 overall. They will close out the regular season Friday by hosting the Hibbing Bluejackets at 7:15pm.
