Cromwell GIrls Get Second Win Over Bulldogs

The Cromwell Cardinals picked up their second win of the season over the Carlton Bulldogs by a score of 65-59 in a Polar league match-up at Carlton High School on Monday night. The Cardinals who beat the Bulldogs by 15 points in January hung on to win this one by six points.


The Cardinals, who were coming off a victory over Two Harbors last Thursday night were looking to make it two wins in a row, while the Bulldogs were seeking to end a four game losing streak at home Monday night.


The Cardinals capitalized Monday night on 28 trips to the free throw line by connecting on 11-28. Carlton managed only 7 free throws on the night. Carlton fell behind early and trailed by eight at half. The Bulldogs comeback fell short in the second half.


The Cardinals were led by MaKayleigh Cahoon who finished with 18 points on the night, Ann Collman notched 14, Christina Johnsons chipped in with 9, Brittany Johnson added 8, Allie Cahoon poured in 7, it was Kaylee Johnson with 5, and Marlene Wester had 4.


The Bulldogs were led by Lindsey Dahl-Holm who scored a game high 20 points. Brook Camps added 16 including three 3-pointers, Clarissa Nelson added 10, Taylor Klassen 5, Tori Zime 4, and it was Karly Voge and Ashley Anderson with 2 each.


Cromwell evens its record at 11-11 overall on the season, they will be home Thursday when they will host McGregor in a Polar League match-up. Carlton falls to 7-13 on the season and they will face Floodwood on Thursday night at Floodwood High School.
