Katie Myhre and Claire Rodgers combined for 43 points, but it was Caitlan Rodgers who hit the big shot at the end to send the Barnum girls basketball team to a 56-54 victory on the road at Hibbing on Monday night.

Myhre led the Bombers with 22 points including four 3-pointers, and Claire Rodgers added 21 points, to lead Barnum to the win after they trailed 28-26 at halftime.

Kayla Swanson was the big scorer for the Blue Jackets with 19 points and Melissa Weisbrick finished with 10 points.

The Bombers also got six points from point guard Claudia Turner, five from Caitlan Rodgers, and a single point from both Lyssa Warpula and Megan Nelson.

A huge key for the Bombers was the ability to get to the free throw line where they scored 17 points compared to just nine for the Blue Jackets.

The win improves the Bombers record to 17-3 on the season. In what could be a preview of a deep in the playoffs game, the Bombers will host Northwoods on Thursday.
