Esko Girls Improve To 15-1 With Win Over Cloquet

The Esko Eskomos improved to 15-1 Monday night with an impressive 61-25 victory over the Cloquet Lumberjacks in this non-conference battle. The Eskomos roared out to a big first half lead and were never tested as they pick up their seventh straight win.


Esko jumped out to a huge first half lead as they led 38-10 at halftime. Esko’s Savanna Trapp was one block away from recording a triple double Monday night, finishing with 16 points, 13 rebounds and 9 blocked shots.


Esko continued in the second half with great all around balance as they outscored Cloquet 23-15 in the final half to come away with the 36 point win. Esko shot extremely well in the victory, hitting seven 3-pointers from four different players.


Brooke Schramm had a very nice all around game for the Eskomos as well. Schramm scored seven points, to go along with 4 steals, and 5 assists on the night in the Eskomos victory. Esko finished with 10 players who scored in their win.


Savanna Trapp led all scorers with 16, Bailey Mudek added 9, Marisa Shady finished with 8, Brooke Schramm had 7, Step Miller chipped in with 6, Kallyn Knutson, Step Bandelin, and Megan Reuer all scored 4 points, Molly Trapp had 2 and Kailee Kiminski finished the Esko scoring with 1 point.


The Lumberjacks were led by Sammy Zeadow with 7, Kenzie Rathe and Avery Bieri both finished with 5 points, Reilly Kedrowski scored 4, while Jordan Hanson and Morgan Jensen both finished with 2 points for Cloquet.


The Eskomos improve to 15-1 on the season and they will play host to McGregor on Thursday night in a Polar League conference match-up. The Lumberjacks fall to 6-13 overall on the season and they are back in action again on Thursday when they host Duluth Marshall.
